A FIERY MATCH – Happy Birthday!

A FIERY MATCH launches today!

Book Two in our new series is about the Olsen family of the Rafter O Ranch featuring another one of the Olsen siblings. You can read them as stand alone, or in order. And don’t you just LOVE this book cover? Thanks CKN/Wolfpack Publishing Team!

Janie Olsen is back, but not because she wants to be home again. She doesn’t have any other place to go, and she arrives just in time to dive headfirst into major upheaval amidst a prairie fire on her family’s ranch. When she takes charge, thanks to her years in the Army, she does more than just ruffle the feathers of the town’s fire chief—she sparks his unwanted attention.

Fire Chief Mack Griffitt is used to calling the shots. But when an upstart, feisty woman shows up out of nowhere and tries taking charge of his fire scene, he’s forced to put his large boot down. No matter the cost, even though he can’t stop thinking about her.

When the town’s nosy matchmakers see the two of them at odds, a plan is put into motion because they can recognize true love when they see it. The only problem? Mack says he isn’t interested in the beautiful Army veteran. Plain and unpopular Janie believes he’s in a league of his own—a league she’s nowhere near qualified for.

Only, when Mack makes Janie laugh, something inside of her blossoms. And when she somehow knows the exact model Harley he drives, a new desire tugs at his heart and thoughts of a different life enters Mack’s mind. A choice that might lead to him hurting someone else he cares about…

This book was so much fun to write because I have always enjoyed reading ugly duckling to swan stories. Denise and I had fun creating the character of Janie Olsen, not to mention the Fire Chief that breaks through that tough exterior. We also got to dig into small town fire departments.

Much thanks to Randy Griffitt, former fire chief from my hometown of Dimmitt, and Tami Griffitt, who answered my endless stream of questions on small town emergency protocols. If you love small-town antics with heart, western ranch settings, strong female heroines, stories with faith and happy endings, you might enjoy our new series.

HOME IS WHERE YOU ARE, Book One tells the story about the oldest Olsen sibling, Nathan. He fell in love with his island-born wife, Indya, while living in the hills and art world of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and he brings her home to the Rafter O Ranch. Could the short-grass, treeless county of the Texas plains be the reason they grow apart? Read it NOW!

And here is a sneak peak at Book Three!. It’s the story of the youngest Olsen sibling, Travis and his struggle to raise his young son while encouraging his wife to follow her destiny to become a country music sensation. Sometimes, if you love something, you have to set it free…
