Book Reviews:
Here’s my recommended reads from the past several months. So many new discoveries and a few old favorites. Enjoy!
For Fans of Horror
ONE MURDEROUS WEEK by Nandy Ekle
Congratulations to one of my writing critique partners, Nandy Ekle, who has just released a collection of short stories. This thrilling anthology is full of seven stories of violence, aging, jealousy, arrogance, friendship, love, and romance. There is always a twist in the end. Seven days gone bad makes for one murderous week.
For Fans of Murder Mystery
THE INNER CIRCLE by Bard Meltzer
You might remember Meltzer as the host of several shows on The History Channel. In this book, what if Washington’s Culper Ring continued to operate in today’s world? What if an unlikely hero turns out to be an archivist at the National Archives in Washington D.C.? This is a murder mystery with just enough insight into the inner workings of Washington to make it interesting. Lots of tension and plot twists.
For Romance Fans
SING ME HOME by Lisa Ann Verge.
An innocent runs away from the convent and joins a traveling band of rowdy performers to search for her real family and to discover the truth as to why she was abandoned at birth. Fun romance in this coming of age story.
For Fans of Mystery with Christian Elements
The Trailer Park Series by Kim Hunt Harris.
Looking for a funny, Christian based mystery? These are fun reads with lively characters.
